Hanuman immersed in various
thoughts about Sita, it is definite that Sita will not sleep or eat or drink or
beautify her with any ornaments after separated from her beloved husband Rama,
it is impossible to reach her for even Lord Indra, because there is no one
equivalent to Rama even among the deities, so it must be somebody else and gradually
he moved into banquet hall. In that magnificent
hall, some of the women were in a state of exhaustion after extreme passionate
sport, some were tired of singing and dancing, some of them were in a state of
intoxication after consumption of drinks, some of them were seated with music
instruments. There were beautiful women
in most excellent garments and finest jewels were engaged in the discussion
about the music and well behaving according to time and place, some of the
women were extremely tired of passionate sport.
In the middle of those attractive women, Ravana shone like bull in the
middle of cows, resembled like an male elephant among the cluster of female
elephants in the woods. The best among
Vanara, Hanuman witnessed various kinds of sumptuous meal cooked with the meat
of dear, buffalo, wild boar, Pigs, goat, Porcupine, peacock, chicken etc…in
attractive golden vessels served with salt and curd. There was meat of a unique bird Krakara was
ready to consume, meat of Chakora birds were left half eaten, meat of buffalo
and a variety of fishes, goat and various kinds of beverage were ready to
consume. That glorious hall was spread
with sauces, necklaces, anklets, armlets, and all expensive items, there was
glasses of various fruit juices and flowers all over. The hall for entertainment was radiant
without any fire and well arranged with high-class furniture, various kinds of
meats with best seasoning was arranged beautifully. There was various kinds of drinks was
available, Sura which was made out of Sugar, honey, drinks made out of flowers
and fruits, artificial drinks, were kept in order in beautiful pots of silver
and gold. The floor was decked in
various flower garlands and beautiful vessels made of crystal and gold, drinks
of various colors were kept in magnificent vessels, some of the vessels are
half empty and some of them are untouched, there was places where eatables are
served, and some places are seen with the remaining of cooked rice, some places
are filled with broken vessels, fruits, flowers and water stretched all over. There were beautiful women in sound sleep on
the grand couches, intertwined each other’s with misplaced clothes from their
bodies. The whole atmosphere was filled
with marvelous aroma of various fragrances of sandal paste, intoxicated drinks
and flower garlands. There were women of
dark, fair, golden complexion in the palace of Ravana, tired of passionate
sport and sound asleep resembled like lotuses in the pond, but he could not
find Sita. Eventually Hanuman who has
firm mind became depressed at the thought of his righteousness, seeing others
wives in sleep at the Ravana’s palace would do harm to his virtue though it was
not intentional, shortly he pacified himself that none of the scene did not
cause any disturbance or lust to his mind or thought. All those auspicious and
inauspicious acts caused by the mind, and his senses were perfectly controlled,
moreover it is impossible to find Sita other than in the group of women,
usually a woman will be seen in the group of other women, a women will not be
in the group of herd of female deer, in case of an animal it will remain in the
herd of the same race. Hanuman thought
that he had conducted meticulous search for Sita with unblemished mind in the Ravana’s palace, but all his searches were
gone astray , he had witnessed young maidens of deities, Yaksha, Naga, Gandharva etc… but failed to locate Janaki. Soon he left the hall for entertainment and
began to search in some other areas of the palace.
